Start Here: England Trip Planning
If you are visiting from abroad, this is a great place to start. These guides cover ideas for where you might want to go, plus practical tips for planning your trip, including our England itinerary.
England Destination Guides
All of our England guides are below. We have broadly organised them by region as best we can based on the content we have so far.
London
We have a separate page with all our London guides, covering the best neighbourhoods, things to do, walking routes and practical advice for visiting the capital.
North England
Our guides to North England cover destinations across Northumberland, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. We have a separate section for the Lake District (see the next section), even though it’s in the north, because of the number of guides we have.
Lake District
The Lake District is a hiking destination in the north of England with dramatic mountains, valleys and lakes. It’s our favourite part of the country, and we go almost every year. These guides are a good place to start:
Cotswolds
The Cotswolds are a popular destination for exploring charming villages, countryside walks and historic towns. This is where you’ll find the quintessential English thatched-roof cottages. To get started, these guides can help with your planning:
South East England
Our guides to South East England cover coastal walks, historic towns, countryside escapes and a few wonderful places to visit near London, including Whitstable, Rye, and the South Downs.
South West England
Our guides to South West England cover dramatic coastlines, countryside landscapes, historic cities and places to explore, including Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
Midlands
The Midlands cover a diverse bunch of places. So far, we have guides on the Peak District, Malvern Hills and Cambridge.
